PRE SEASON FIXTURES FINALISED

With 4 weeks training under the belt the adult teams will get into a busy sequence of interesting friendlies and also pre season tournaments in the guise of the Hindsford Cup and Goldline Trophies.

The pre season build up will be completed when the Club's Veterans don the boots again to take on the Wigan Athletic Past Players who will be keen to reverse the result from the game last season

The rematch has been arranged provisionally for Wednesday 8th August 2007 - 7.30pm ko. Any changes to this and the other arrangements will be posted here.

Wales at the double as the 'latics land top friendlies

Ashton's preparation for the new season hits a climax with two a prestigious friendlies in the Principality, the first against strong Cymru Alliance outfit Flint Town United at the superb Cae-y-Castell ground , Marsh Lane, Flint on Saturday 28th July 2007 3pm kick off.

The following weekend then sees Ashton returning to Wales , this time to face last season's Welsh Premier League runners up Rhyl FC.
This second game will take place on Sunday 5th August 3pm at Rhyl's splendid Belle Vue stadium, just three days after Rhyl's 2nd leg UEFA cup qualification match, hence the switch to a Sunday fixture.

PRE SEASON TRAINING TO COMMENCE 19th JUNE 2007

The build up to the new NWCFL season for Ashton Athletic will start on TUESDAY 19th JUNE 2007 with pre season training based at the superb grass pitches at the rear of St Edmund Arrowsmith High School, off Warrington Road in Ashton in Makerfield.






Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 7pm as well as Saturdays at 3pm.

The first pre season warm up matches are scheduled for Tuesday 17th July and Thursday 19th July.

Directions to the venue are as follows-

Exit J23 of the M6 (Haydock Park/A580 junction) and follow signs for A49 (Ashton). Go past Haydock Park Racecourse entrance.There are 2 schools on the left (opposite Robinsons Saddlery superstore). Turn up the main drive between the 2 schools and through to the car park next to the astroturf pitch.
