Ashton Athletic 3 Hyde FC 2

Ashton Athletic came from behind in a thrilling FA Youth Cup tie at Brocstedes Park.
Ashton took the lead in the 13th minute with a break away goal from Jamie Charnock from a lovely through ball played by Harry Johnson, against the run of play as Hyde dominated the first half.
It wasn't long before the visitors drew level in the 21st minute with a fantastic individual goal from their No.7.
Half time the teams were level.
Hyde scored again just after the restart with a cross come shot that looped into the top corner giving Matty Shorrocks no chance. At this point the away team looked strong but Ashton began to pile on the pressure.
Some fresh legs were brought on, notably Aaron Simpson and we began to get some momentum. It was only a matter of time before we equalised but as time was getting on it looked doubtful we could make the pressure pay, until Charnock stepped up again and grabbed his second of the night 2-2.
The tie looked like it was heading for extra time until Alex Ashby broke on the left and crossed superbly for Dion Johnston to head home with seconds to spare.
A thriller of a game that was a great watch for all the spectators. Well done lads. AFC Fylde in the next round.
