Ashton Athletic v Bootle - Saturday 12th of August. Kick Off 3pm at Brocstedes Park. WN4 0NR.

The fixtures for August have been announced and Ashton Athletic start the season on the 12th with a tough home game against one of the favourites for the league in Bootle.

The Yellows will be looking to fare better than last season in the games against the Bucks having conceded 14 goals and scoring only 2 in 3 games, with the Macron Cup Quarter Final going into extra time.

The 16th sees a trip to the WEC Group Anchor Ground to face AFC Darwen. The Yellows have won in both their trips up to East Lancashire winning 3-2 in the 2015/16 season and 4-0 last season.

Ashton play the HSL Division One Champions, Widnes at the Select Security Stadium on the 26th for the first time in their history. The Whites are managed by ex Runcorn Linnets manager Joey Dunn, who's teams are always difficult to beat.

The final game of the month sees Maine Road visit Brocstedes Park. Last season's visit saw ex Yellow, Louis Edwards, snatch an 84th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
