Ashton travelled to Cheshire on the back of a fine mid week win over 1874, the trio rotated the squad with one eye on the mid week Lancs Cup Final .
In came Ben Collins for his full debut, he was partnered up top with Lee Vaughan, Sam Bailey stepped into the middle of the park along side the returning Skipper Paul Watson, Cal Wilson moved back to the heart of the defence while Adam Howard also returned at left back. Luke Holden, Daniel Smith and Chris Webster all dropped to the bench.
The game was won on 36 minutes when a fine strike from the energetic Paul Watson flew past the home keeper and the score line stayed at 1-0 to the visitors for the remainder of the game.
