YELLOWS EASILY BEATEN AT THE BARTON STADIUM

This is a afternoon Ashton will want to forget as there preformance was awful which also can be used to describe the man in then middle. 8 bookings and 1 red in a game were there was not 1 malicious, or missed time tackle, but saying this he was not to blame for Ashtons lacklustre preformance
Winsford took the lead after only 3 minutes, a missed header from Jamie Harrison in the middle of the park gifted a opportunity for the home sides number 8 to play in Domonic Marie who placed his shot passed the on rushing Loughlin in the vistors net.
The majotity of the half was played in the middle of the pitch as both sides found it hard to create decent opportunities on a woeful playing surface, the only real highlight of a dour half was Phil Williams threat down the left, as he produced 3 or 4 quality crosses.
The last kick of the half saw Sherriff stick a worldie shot into Loughlin's top right hand corner leaving Ashton with a mountain to climb.
HT 2-0
Im not sure what was put in the refs cup of tea at halftime but it definatley changed him, his yellow card was never out of his right hand to the bemusement of the home crowd who were now starting to get on his back, Kay and Pitts in the away dugout made 2 changes after only 55minutes as they sent on Ryan Small and Mike Downing, the latter halfing the difference after 70minutes after calmly rounding the keeper and placing the ball into a empty net, by this time the ref had lost control, with 5 players on yellows and Winsfords number 11 recieving his marching orders, then to make things worse, the referee gave the home side a penalty after Ian Rowlands had clearly won the ball leaving the away dugout wandering if Stevie Wonder was the man in charge, up stepped Constatine who riffled his kick into the right of Loughlin's goal, with time running out the ref still found time to book another 3 players.
A poor display from Ashton who will look to get back to winning ways when they entertain there tennants St Helens on Tuesday night
