⚽ Club News and Ashton Athletic 200 Club ⚽

We plan to bring you a club Newsletter every month with all the up to date info - Here's the first...

As the new season is upon us I’d like to keep you up to date with what’s going on around the club. After a busy summer for our committee getting the ground and pitches ready for the new season. Our first team started their Northwest Counties premier season Sat 3rd August when local rivals Skem Utd were the visitors. A decent start for the yellows but conceding a 92 min equaliser felt like a loss. The first team bounced back in emphatic style on Tuesday night beating much fancied Runcorn Town 4-1. The big one is Saturday when the 1st team travel to Irlam in the Emirates FA Cup. Our champion winning Development team started their league campaign on Tuesday night with a 2-2 draw away to Cheadle Heath Nomads in the Cheshire League division 1.

The club are looking to follow the progress of all our youth teams as they soon start their respective leagues. We are looking for coaches to send us team reports that we can include on the club website and match day programme. We are also looking to add reduced entry for all our club members for 1st team games. All youth players and coaches can enter for free with reduced prices for players parents. Please ask Amanda, Lisa and Claire for your club members match day pass.

To all our youth members this season the club have replaced our lotto with a 200 club to raise vital funds to make improvements to our great little Football Club. I want to thank our volunteer committee who have worked tirelessly to get this scheme off the ground. Just a little insight into our club finances. All our subs go towards training costs, league fees, referees expenses and the up keep of the club. It’s been a busy summer for our committee. We have already invested money around the ground, and on all 3 pitches and want to keep making improvements. We make no profit from our subs. The youth pitches should be ready for friendlies via Amanda from Mon 12th Aug.
The 200 hundred club has been a great success with 275 members to date. Our 1st draw was on Sat 3rd August with over £500 paid out. Our aim with all our members help is to now make it our 300 club. 50% of the funds will be price money, with weekly draw prizes and a jackpot draw each month. We currently estimate a weekly draw for £50 and our monthly prize of £500. With more members means more prize money. The other 50% of the funds will go straight back into the club. The draw will be made live every Saturday on the clubs twitter page. With some of our youth members already involved we’d love all our youth members to be a part of it and let’s try and make it our 300 club. The scheme is a completely separate run account for audit purposes, and is run by a simple £5 month direct debit. Forms are available from the club with all the relevant details set up. Let’s all be in it to win it and get our club moving again. Please see our youth coordinators Amanda, Claire or Lisa for a form.

Thanks
Club Treasurer
