Ashton Athletic 18's faced a testing fixture away at Warrington Town and claimed an excellent victory.
The win was all the more impressive as we fielded seven U17's in the squad.
Despite a very difficult pitch the young yellows proved far too strong for Warrington..
2 goals from Harry Johnson and one each from Matt Reid and Scott Lawrence sealed the victory.
Town were frustrated throughout the game and had a number of players booked and a player sent off from the bench.
Indeed the scoreline could have been greater but for an excellent penalty save and a number of missed chances.
The conditions without doubt played their part in the misses as the pitch was in a terrible state making the ball difficult to control and bobble all over the surface.
The win takes Ashton to 4th place in the North West Youth Alliance League behind Curzon Ashton, Chester and AFC Fylde.
Man of the Match was Harry Johnson with his 2 goals and a superb display throughout the match.
Well Done boys, back to your best.
