Ashton 18's into semi final

Another close game between these two sides was decided by the one goal.

Ashton go through to the semi final of the open cup of the North West Youth Alliance thanks to a penalty, scored by Dec McLoughlin.

McLoughlin had been brought down after a good run down the left and stepped up to take the spot kick.

After missing last week everyone was on the edge of their seat, but with nerves of steel, he calmly chipped the ball straight down the middle into the back of the net. Superb technique!

Chorley worked hard throughout the game, bringing the best out of our keeper Lewis Goulding who was Man of the Match.

The teams now meet again next week down at Brocstedes, this time in the league, and its sure to be a great battle between these two quality sides.
