Ashton Athletic scored two first half goals to see them comfortably into the next round of the FA Vase.
The goals were scored by Joel Brownhill and Paul Watson.
Indeed Ashton could have been more in front at the break if the referee hadn't over ruled his assistant, giving a free kick outside the box, when the foul was clearly inside and an obvious penalty. The opposition keeper bringing down Adam Gilchrist.
Although Athersley Recreation came into the game more in the 2nd half the result was always on the cards for the Yellows.
A red card saw Athersley down to 10 men in the latter stages and Ashton saw the game out with ease.
